Broadcast & Release History

The dub, licensed by Spacetoon India (Animation International), and produced and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, debuted on June 19, 2006 on Hungama TV. The show gained up to 50–60% of the channel's market share.

Complaints of "social concerns" were lodged by parents regarding Shin-chan’s controversial style and behavior towards elders, which was seen as a "negative influence on kids." This led to the series being questioned by the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on September 23, 2008.

A heavily censored version returned on March 27, 2009, with nudity and profanity edited out. Jokes with mature themes were rewritten, alcohol was changed to juice, and iconic scenes like the "Mr. Elephant Dance" were cut. Voices of Shin-chan and his mother were also replaced around episode 230.

The original Hindi dub covered the first two seasons (104 episodes). The dub officially stopped in 2015 but was redubbed in 2016 for Hungama TV and Amazon Prime Video. Episodes continue to air in censored versions.

Release updates:

In 2016, the first 8 seasons were released on Amazon Prime Video (no longer available).
On February 21, 2019, seasons 12–15 were released on Disney+ Hotstar, removed in Jan 2022, returned in March.
Season 12 currently unavailable; Season 16 added on May 20, 2024.

Since September 23, 2021, the 16th season of the dub has been broadcast.

✨ Shinchan Important Characters ✨

Shinchan Nohara: The naughty 5-year-old boy who loves chocochips, mischief, and embarrassing his family with funny antics.

Misae Nohara: Shinchan’s strict but caring mother. Always scolds Shinchan but deeply loves her family.

Hiroshi Nohara: Shinchan’s father, works at a company. Loves his family but often gets annoyed by Shinchan’s mischief.

Himawari Nohara: Shinchan’s baby sister. She loves shiny things and often causes her own share of trouble.

Shiro: Shinchan’s loyal pet dog, cute and fluffy. Often smarter than Shinchan in tough situations.

Kazama-kun: Shinchan’s best friend, smart and disciplined, but often gets annoyed by Shinchan’s silly behavior.

Nene-chan: Cute but bossy girl in Shinchan’s group, who loves playing house and often hits her friends with her plush bunny.

Bo-chan: Silent and slow-speaking friend of Shinchan, known for his runny nose and funny comments.

Masao-kun: A timid and emotional boy in the group who easily cries, but is very loyal to his friends.
